Spoil yourself with makeup brushes

Apply your makeup with wonderfully soft, fluffy brushes...
They feel wonderful on your face, and make your makeup look oh so much better!
They can be pricey, but will last forever if you look after them well.

High end brushes (I love Bobbi Brown) are beautifully luxurious, but for luxe brushes that don't break the bank check out Ecotools!

aromatherapy and massage...all in a cleanser

So often we scrub our faces morning and night as part of a mindless routine, be it a supermarket brand cleanser or the latest $500 cream, when the same time spent can be used to invigorate (in the morning) and relax (at night).

The newest luxury I discovered came in the form of my new cleanser. (Trilogy cream cleanser, $36)

A cream cleanser that smells divine, it's relaxing because it combines a soothing massage, aromatherapy and as a bonus, takes off all your makeup too!

What I do is, take a gob of cream cleanser (about the size of two peas) and massage it all over my damp face (splash some warm water on your face first, makeup and all).

Now, for the soothing facial massage:
Starting at the temples, rub in circles to the middle of the forehead. Take two fingers, run down either side of the nose and then rub in circles across the apples of the cheek up to the temples again.

Then run two fingers on each side down in front of the ears and along the jaw to meet at your chin, and then rub straight up around the mouth to meet at the base of the nose.

This follows the natural muscle lines of the face and relaxes the facial muscles.

All the rubbing takes off all you makeup or daily grime...and you're left with relaxed, soft, clean skin.

Be sure to pick a cleanser with a lovely scent (I prefer those scented with essential oils) and breathe deeply in and out while performing the facial massage.

Rinse or tissue off cleanser (I use damp cotton pads), and splash with warm water.

Spa luxury in your bathroom!

1000 thread count sheets

Soft and silky, there's nothing more comforting than getting into bed between 1000 thread count sheets and curling your toes in the cool satin-ness, which slowly warms up to become a luxurious cocoon.

An indulgence which truly makes the stresses and worries of the day melt away as you sink into sleep.

I held off the 1000 thread count hype for a long time before I caved in and bought some... and haven't looked back since!

One of my favourite bedtime everyday luxuries.

Where to buy: anywhere that sells bedsheets...though the quality is variable! I got mine from Adairs (www.adairs.com.au)

Price: also widely variable...buy them on sale (sheets don't go out of style!)

with a lil' bit o' luxe...

This is a blog about the little things we can do to make everyday life more luxurious.

Luxury isn't always about buying expensive things, often it's just taking time out to make yourself feel special.

After a busy day, for me luxury is a warm bath with scented candles, velvety hot chocolate, and a good book.
